Disney wanted a high-profile physical statement piece that could incentivize fan engagement and bring fans to Hot Topic; the franchises biggest reseller.

We opted to recreate the film’s villainous Queen Anne’s Revenge smashing through L.A.’s Hollywood & Highland complex, adjacent the El Capitan Theatre.

The ship acted as both a giant photo opportunity and stage for the franchise's cast who christened the ship with a candy glass champagne bottle.

We looked at everything through the eyes of a fan. When you give them a heightened experience (the ability to interact with the pirate ship and engage with costumed performers), it forges a connection. It doesn’t become a store at that point; it becomes a place where they can place themselves in something they love and create a memory for life.
The Queen Anne’s Revenge in full detail, with wood, metal and bone-like materials that had visitors cautiously touching the displays, believing it’s the real thing.
Astrid Bergès-Frisbey and Sam Claflin christen the ship with a candy glass prop.
