Visual Voice Virtual Reality: Dissolving Social Anxiety Through Voice is an immersive two-person experience created for Oculus and built on the Unreal Engine. It’s designed to help quickly dissolve feelings of social anxiety that many associate with speaking in public or even in one-on-one interactions. In this experience, two users sit across from one another, each wearing a head-mounted display.

One of VVVR’s core techniques may feel familiar to those experienced in traditional meditation practices. Using your voice as the catalyst, VVVR transforms natural sounds into ambient digital effects, allowing participants to hear each other and adjust their tones in harmony. Similar to Transcendental Meditation’s mantra repetition or Zen Meditation’s focus on breathing, the experience guides users into a more peaceful state. Additionally, VVVR enriches the experience with visual prompts—dynamic, fluid environments that participants control—helping to focus the mind and dissolve the active chatter that feeds anxiety.
